Police are investigating two overnight shootings — one in the Loop and the other in Rogers Park. No arrests have been made.
Just before 2 a.m., a drive-by shooting on the 7200 block of North Clark left a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his foot, police said.
The victim was standing next to his car when the driver of a silver four-door sedan opened fire, according to a CPD statement. He took himself to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston for treatment. Police said he was in good condition.
Witnesses said the victim was leaving a nearby business when the shooting occurred. Police cleared the party out and issued citations to the business, according to an officer at the scene.
Later, a 29-year-old man was shot while riding in the passenger seat of a car on Lower Wacker Drive in the Loop, police said.
CPD did not give an exact location for the shooting but said the victim was traveling on Wacker around 3:30 a.m. when he heard several shots and realized he had been struck in the right knee.
The driver of the victim’s car took him to Stroger Hospital where his condition stabilized.
Police received calls of shots fired near Sears Tower, 233 South Wacker, around 2 a.m., but cops didn’t find anyone injured and reported that the noise may have come from drag racers in the area.
Area Three detectives are investigating both shootings.
