2 detained, guns recovered after man’s shot in Noble Square

Police detained two men and recovered two firearms after a 24-year-old man was shot in the Noble Square neighborhood Tuesday evening, according to a CPD report.

The victim was outside on the 900 block of North Noble when he heard gunfire around 9:18 p.m., police said. One bullet struck the victim in his left leg. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, but police said he could not provide details about what happened.

Some witnesses reported seeing two men firing guns during the shooting, while others thought the gunfire came from a car.

Police searched the area for suspects and detained two men after foot pursuits on the 1300 block of West Walton around 9:35 p.m. Officers also seized two guns from the men. It is not clear if the men were involved in the shooting, which took place about a block from where they were arrested.

Area Three detectives are investigating. CWBChicago will post updates if charges are filed against the men who were detained.
