A 26-year-old woman was shot as she stood with a group of people outside Diversey River Bowl, 2211 West Diversey, early Tuesday, according to a CPD report.
The woman was with a group of people on the parking lot when she “heard several shots fired from different directions” around 12:22 a.m., police said in a media statement. Officers found shell casings in the bowling alley lot and on a nearby street.
The victim was taken by car to Thorek Hospital in Uptown for treatment. Police said she was shot once in her lower left leg.
Officers who arrived at the scene moments after the shooting said they saw a large group of people leaving the lot and at least two cars speeding from the area. One car in the parking had bullet holes in it.
