An armed man carjacked and robbed three drivers over the course of three hours in West Rogers Park on Tuesday night, police said. No injuries were reported. Area Three detectives linked the three cases to a single offender in a community alert Wednesday afternoon.
Each time, the man walked up to victims as they were either sitting in or stepping out of their car, according to the alert. He reportedly displayed a gun, demanded their valuables and keys, then drove away with their car.
First, he carjacked a woman of her dark blue Nissan Rogue on the 6000 block of North Richmond at 8:42 p.m., according to a CPD report.
He struck again less than ten minutes later on the 6200 block of North Washtenaw. There, he reportedly got out of a red vehicle and took the victim’s gray 2004 Acura sedan.
Around 11:30 p.m., he robbed a woman in front of her home on the 2800 block of West Fargo and drove away with her red Ford Focus, according to a police report.
The community alert described the suspect as a Black male between 18- and 25-years-old who stands 5’8″ to 6-feet tall and weighs 150 to 180 pounds. He wore a black ski mask, gray hoodie, and dark gray pants.
