Update August 18, 2021: The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as 25-year-old Sean Ravi Charles Sullivan-Freeman.

A man was shot dead on a Rogers Park street Monday evening, but police have found no witnesses and haven’t been able to identify the victim, according to CPD.

Police responded to calls of shots fired on the 1300 block of West Farwell at 9:03 p.m. and found the victim lying in the middle of the street with gunshot wounds to his face, shoulder, and chest, according to a CPD statement. The fire department transported him to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. He was pronounced dead at 9:33 p.m.

Police had not determined the man’s name and age as of 11 p.m. Monday.

Officers reviewed surveillance video and identified the gunman as a heavyset White male who is over 6-feet tall. He was wearing all black clothing and was seen running south on Lakewood after the shooting.

The case is Rogers Park’s second murder of the year.

On March 19, 75-year-old Nanda Bhattarai was stabbed to death as he walked on the 1600 block of West Morse. Three weeks after the attack, prosecutors charged 26-year-old Cash Johnson with first-degree murder in the case.
