Police are looking for the man who stole an Amazon truck in Uptown on Thursday afternoon. The driver found his vehicle about a block away, but packages and his two personal phones were missing, police said.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of West Winnemac.
The 30-year-old delivery driver stepped out of his truck to retrieve items from the other side of the vehicle when the thief jumped in and drove away, according to a CPD spokesperson.
Officers in the Lincoln (20th) District tweeted a surveillance image of the thief Friday.
He didn’t drive the truck very far — just one block over to the 1200 block of West Carmen. That’s where the driver found it abandoned in the street with several packages and his two phones missing, according to a CPD report.
