Police are investigating three armed robberies reported late Monday and early today in West Town, Wicker Park, and the West Loop.
First, a 32-year-old woman was robbed outside her home on the 1400 block of West Erie around 10:10 p.m. Monday. She said two men displayed a gun and took her property, then ran down an alley and got into a white or silver SUV, according to CPD spokesperson Kellie Bartoli.
The woman said the robbers are two Black men between 5’6″ and 5’5″ tall, weighing 130 to 150 pounds. They wore black hoodies, black jeans, and black ski masks, Bartoli said.
Then, two convenience stores were robbed within about 45 minutes.
Around 11:45 p.m., two men brandished handguns and robbed the 7-Eleven at 1508 North Damen, according to a CPD report. They took money, liquor, tobacco products, and the cashier’s purse, the report said. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.
About 45 minutes later, the same two men are suspected of robbing the 7-Eleven at 954 West Monroe in the West Loop. Again, two handguns were displayed, but no one was injured.
