A drive-by shooter left three people injured near the Howard CTA station in Rogers Park on Wednesday evening, police said. They were on a sidewalk in the 7600 block of North Paulina when the gunman opened fire from a dark sedan around 9:31 p.m., police said.
EMS took three people to St. Francis Hospital for treatment. According to police:
- a 30-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her left leg is in good condition
- a 31-year-old woman is in critical condition with gunshots to her buttocks and right leg
- a 28-year-old man is in fair condition with a gunshot wound to his right leg
Police believe the shooter’s car, possibly a Nissan Altima, headed west on Howard Street after the shooting.
The victims are the fourth, fifth, and sixth persons shot in Rogers Park this year. By comparison, the neighborhood recorded one shooting victim at this point last year, according to records maintained by CWB.
