Man OK after being shot in Rogers Park alley

A 40-year-old man is in good condition after someone shot him in a Rogers Park alley Saturday afternoon, police said.

He was on the 1300 block of West Morse when someone fired shots around 1:30 p.m., striking him in the right arm, according to a Chicago police media statement. Witnesses reported seeing a woman chasing after the man following the shooting. Police believe they have the woman’s name and investigators reportedly considered her to be the primary suspect.

The victim ran to a nearby home after being shot. He is being treated at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.

Seven people have been shot in Rogers Park in five separate incidents so far this year. That’s up from three victims in three incidents at this point last year, according to records maintained by CWB Chicago.

Area Three detectives are investigating Saturday’s shooting.
