Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the chest during a fight near the Wilson CTA station Thursday evening.
The victim, a 59-year-old man, told police he was in a fight with another man who stabbed him in the chest on the 1100 block of West Wilson around 7:22 p.m., Officer Alex Aguas said.
EMS took the victim to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair condition with a puncture wound to his chest.
CPD did not release a description of the assailant. The victim told police he thought the offender fled into the Wilson station. Aguas said initial information indicated that the stabbing did not take place on CTA property.
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings.
Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
