When a team of shoplifters returned to a Loop convenience store for the third time in a week Sunday night, one of the employees had a surprise waiting. He pepper-sprayed the thieves as they bolted for the door with bags full of cigarettes and liquor. And, yes, it’s on video.

The crew headed straight behind the counter and started to fill backpacks and bags with merchandise. As they head toward the door, a store employee approached and deployed pepper spray.

The first raid by this crew reportedly occurred at 1:15 a.m. on June 4. They returned on June 28, July 1, and again Sunday. Unfortunately, no arrests have been made in any of the thefts.
