Chicago police say a 76-year-old man sexually assaulted and abused a 14-year-old girl at Montrose Harbor on Saturday afternoon. And the girl’s father managed to restrain the man until the police arrived.

Juan Rodlon was arrested at 2:53 p.m. in the 200 block of West Montrose Harbor Drive, according to CPD. They said he was identified as the man who sexually assaulted the girl less than an hour earlier in the same area.

The girl’s mother and father both called 911 to report the crime around 2:30 p.m. and several 911 callers reported seeing two men fighting. Those men turned out to be Roldon and the father, who was trying to restrain him, according to a witness.

The girl was taken to Weiss Hospital for treatment, and an evidence technician was summoned to take pictures of Roldon’s injuries. According to the report, CPD technicians also recovered a facial tissue that may have contained DNA evidence.

Roldon is charged with criminal sexual assault by force, criminal sexual abuse by force, and unlawful restraint, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in bond court on Tuesday afternoon. More details about his background and the allegations will be known after the hearing.
