Overdose suspected after 2 men are found dead in Boystown alley

Update August 21 — The men were ages 20 and 21, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Two men were found dead, and a woman was found unresponsive in a Boystown alley Thursday morning. Police are conducting a death investigation, but officials suspect a drug overdose.

The three, all believed to be in their mid-20s, were found in an arched alcove adjacent to an alley in the 800 block of West Belmont Avenue around 6:45 a.m. A fire department supervisor initially reported three people dead, but the woman was revived and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Autopsies are planned.
