Chicago police have released surveillance images of two suspects in the hit-and-run crash that injured six people on an Old Town restaurant patio last month.

Police said the men in these photos ran from the wrecked car and headed north on Wells Street, then west on Goethe Street around 10:24 p.m. on July 8.

Moments before the crash, a delivery driver left his silver Lexus sedan running and unattended in the 1300 block of North Wells, according to a CPD report. Two people jumped into his car and sped south.

Police said the driver of the stolen car tried to pass another vehicle in the 1200 block of North Wells, but he clipped another car, lost control, and crashed into the patio of Uproar, 1252 North Wells. The outdoor dining area and sidewalk were filled with patrons and servers enjoying a warm Friday night.

EMS transported two women, ages 24 and 26, to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition with broken legs, police said. The other three victims were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in good condition; a 26-year-old man with bruises to his back, a 32-year-old man with a cut to his elbow, and a 26-year-old woman with a foot injury. A sixth person declined medical attention.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the crash can contact CPD’s major accident investigation unit at 312-745-4521 regarding case JF-310555.
