A 25-year-old man was shot and killed while riding in a car in Rogers Park on Wednesday evening, Chicago police said. Investigators found more than 25 shell casings from two weapons at the scene.
He was riding in the back seat of a car when the gunman opened fire on him from a Jeep in the 7000 block of North Greenview around 7:51 p.m., according to a CPD statement. The victim was shot in the back and died.
Witnesses said the black Jeep fled east on Greenleaf Avenue after the shooting.
An officer said police found .40 caliber and 9-millimeter shell casings at the crime scene, which suggests more than one person may have been firing shots.
