Chicago — A carjacker pushed a 67-year-old woman to the ground and stole her Lexus outside a Target store in the West Loop on Monday morning, according to a Chicago police report.

The woman was getting out of her car around 7:45 a.m. when a man pushed her to the ground and took her purse outside the store at 1101 West Jackson. He then drove away with the Lexus.

An officer who responded to the scene described the offender as a Black male between the ages of 20 and 30, standing between 5’7″ and 5’10” tall. He was dressed in a black hoodie and a black mask.

The hijacker arrived in a black sedan, possibly a Nissan. A similar vehicle was used by one of two armed robbery crews that carried out a bunch of holdups in Wicker Park and West Town a couple of hours before the hijacking. But the earlier robberies all involved firearms.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
