Chicago — A man was shot while sitting in a car in Streeterville on Friday evening, according to Chicago police. He refused medical attention at the scene.
The victim, 28, was sitting inside a Kia in the 400 block of North Peshtigo when the gunman rolled up in another car and opened fire on him around 8:03 p.m.
Bullet holes were visible in the Kia’s driver’s side door, and police said the victim suffered a graze wound to his left calf. Officers at the scene said the gunman fired from a white Volkswagen that headed west on Grand after the shooting.
Police did not release descriptions of the shooter.
This is the first shooting of 2023 on the Near North Side.
Peshtigo is a block-long street between Illinois and Grand, just west of Lake Shore Drive.
