Chicago police are investigating after a man was shot near an Uptown bus stop on Thursday afternoon.
The 33-year-old victim was in the 5100 block of North Broadway, just south of Foster, when another man walked up and shot him in the leg, according to a CPD media statement. Police did not provide a motive for the crime.
EMS took the victim to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.
Several people witnessed the incident, and at least one person video recorded the shooting, according to an officer at the scene.
One witness said the gunman ran from the scene and headed down an alley behind a nearby gas station.
Based on the video, an officer radioed that the gunman was a Hispanic man who took off a black hoodie after the shooting. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
Thursday’s shooting is the second of the year in Uptown.
