Chicago police are looking for possible connections between the late-night robberies of two sandwich shops, one in the Loop and the other near Boystown.
The first holdup occurred around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday at Subway, 3019 North Clark, in Lakeview. Three men, all wearing masks and each carrying a gun, robbed the store, according to a Chicago police report.
At 3:51 a.m. on Friday, the same thing happened at Americana Submarine & Tobacco, 400 South Clark.
Chicago police said two men entered the shop while a third stood at the door. All three offenders were masked and had guns. The group collected money from the register and headed west on Van Buren in a black Toyota sedan, according to CPD.
Investigators are also looking to see if there are similar crimes in other parts of the city that may be part of a broader pattern. So far, though, no arrests have been made.
