CHICAGO — Prosecutors say a Chicago woman stole merchandise worth $2,010 from a Foot Locker store on Monday, just ten days after she was charged with shoplifting $3,885 worth of products from an Ulta Beauty store.
Chicago police arrested Dominique Lee on April 13 after she and a male accomplice stole piles of cosmetics from Ulta’s store on the Magnificent Mile, 430 North Michigan, a prosecutor said during her bail hearing the next day.
Investigators tracked her and the accomplice down by following a GPS tracker hidden in the merchandise.
She was charged with felony retail theft, posted a $400 bail deposit, and went home the same day, officials said.
On Monday, Lee walked into the Foot Locker at 1237 North Milwaukee in Wicker Park and walked out with over $2,000 worth of goods, Assistant State’s Attorney Alexander Konetzki said during her bail hearing yesterday.
Once again, police followed a secret tracker to locate Lee, who was convicted of felony retail theft twice in 2019, officials said.
Judge Charles Beach ordered her to pay a $2,000 bail deposit on the Foot Locker case and an additional $1,000 bail deposit for violating bond in the Ulta Beauty matter.
