CHICAGO — A man is in critical condition after being shot while standing on a West Loop street corner overnight, Chicago police said.

The victim was near the corner of Randolph and Sangamon when someone fired shots from a vehicle around 1:18 a.m., according to a CPD statement.

One round struck the 33-year-old in his chest and he was taken to Stroger Hospital.

First responders located the man outside a late-night Taco Bell Cantina, a short distance west of the intersection.

Police did not release any information about the suspects or the vehicle involved.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
