Woman sexually assaulted while returning to her Lincoln Park home: CPD

A woman was sexually assaulted as she entered her Lincoln Park home over the weekend, Chicago police said. The attacker remains on the loose.

The 28-year-old was attacked after she arrived at her home in the 1900 block of North Sheffield around 3:29 a.m. Saturday, according to a CPD spokesperson.

As she walked up the stairwell to the second floor, a man pushed her from behind, grabbed her by the neck, and sexually assaulted her, police said.

She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment. A CPD spokesperson said she was in good condition.

Police did not release a description of the assailant. Area Three detectives are handling the investigation.
