Chicago police detectives are investigating after a woman was found unresponsive in an Uptown alley on Saturday afternoon, possibly after being forced from a third-floor window.

Paramedics transported the woman from an alley behind the 4900 block of North Kenmore to St. Francis Hospital. Due to her injuries, she could not tell officers what happened when they arrived at the hospital shortly before 6 p.m., an initial Chicago police report said.

Police found signs of a struggle in the third-floor apartment directly above where the woman was found, according to the report.

The woman suffered multiple injuries and was initially listed in critical condition.

Area Three detectives are handling the case.
