Jogger finds fisherman badly beaten and robbed at Montrose Harbor

CHICAGO — A 60-year-old man is in serious condition after being attacked and robbed as he fished near Montrose Harbor on Wednesday morning. Chicago police are still looking for the three offenders.

A jogger discovered the victim lying in the 300 block of West Montrose Harbor Drive around 9:15 Wednesday morning, but police believe he was attacked hours earlier, according to a CPD spokesperson.

The man was fishing when three people walked up and began beating him around 3:20 a.m. He managed to get away, but the attackers took the bike and other items he left behind, according to a police report.

EMS took him to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition with facial injuries, the police spokesperson said.
