Man tried to abduct 14-year-old from NW Side street, Chicago police warn

Chicago police are warning about a man who tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl from the Northwest Side on Wednesday afternoon.

The girl was with a friend in the 5400 block of North Kimball when the man got out of a black Jeep and approached them between 2:15 and 2:45 p.m., a CPD alert said. He grabbed the girl in a headlock and tried to force her into the SUV, but the victim broke away and ran.

Police described the assailant as a White man between 30 and 40 years old with wavy brown hair. He wore a red and black jacket. According to CPD, the Jeep bore Illinois license plate EE81455.
