Woman fatally stabbed man in West Rogers Park apartment, police say. Charges pending.

CHICAGO — Charges are pending after a man was fatally stabbed inside an apartment in West Rogers Park. The assault is believed to be domestic in nature.

The victim, a 42-year-old man, called 911 from his apartment in the 6200 block of North Hoyne around 2:20 a.m. Monday, February 26. Chicago police officers found him in the hallway with a stab wound to his abdomen, according to a CPD spokesperson.

He told the police that he had been in an argument with a 39-year-old woman who pulled out a knife and stabbed him, the spokesperson said. Officers arrested the woman at the scene.

The Chicago Fire Department transported the victim to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries. The Cook County medical examiner’s office on Tuesday ruled his death a homicide.
