Boy, 17, critically wounded in Loop stabbing

CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition after someone stabbed him during a fight in the Loop last night, according to Chicago police.

The victim got into a fight with someone he knew around 10:10 p.m. near Primark in the first block of North State. During the altercation, the offender pulled out a knife and stabbed the teen multiple times in the chest and back, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Police officers found three knives discarded near the corner of Dearborn and Randolph, but no arrests were made. An officer at the scene said the victim’s brother told them that the assailant was part of a group of migrants that he and the victim knew.

CPD did not release a description of the suspect.
