Driver shot while traveling through Logan Square

CHICAGO — A man was shot by someone in another vehicle while driving through Logan Square this morning, Chicago police said.

At about 4:45 a.m., the victim, 24, was heading east in the 2600 block of West Armitage when a silver SUV pulled up next to him, according to CPD. There were two men in the SUV, which may have been a Dodge Durango, and one of them shot at the victim, police said.

A bullet struck the man near his left hip. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair condition. Police said the gunman’s SUV continued heading east after the shooting.

The victim is the third person shot in Logan Square this year, according to the city. That compares to four at this point last year and six during the same timeframe in 2022.
