Cops trying to identify man who robbed 2 downtown restaurants in one morning

Chicago cops are trying to identify a man who robbed two businesses in the Loop on February 18. Area Three detectives released surveillance images and video of the man this afternoon.

According to CPD, the man announced robberies inside the businesses while implying that he had a weapon. One time, he ordered the restaurant’s employee to stay inside the business’ restroom, police said.

The robberies occurred in the 200 block of West Madison around 6:30 a.m. and the first block of West Lake around 7:10 a.m.
