Chicago police have released dashcam video of an armed robbery that occurred outside a Dunkin in Old Town earlier this month. They’re hoping someone sees something in the video that will help detectives identify the robbers.
The footage shows a black sedan blocking the victim’s car in the parking lot at 333 West North Avenue around 5:10 a.m. on April 6. Two men get out of the sedan with firearms, one equipped with a green laser sight. Watch:
After taking valuables from the victim, they committed another robbery in the 1800 block of North Clark, police said.
We reported later on April 6 that witnesses told police that the robbers fired shots at the second victim after he chased them following the robbery. No injuries were reported. The victim confirmed to the police that he heard popping noises as he pursued the men.
CPD described the suspects as four thin Black males, two about 5’5″ tall and two about 5’9″ tall.
Anyone with information about them can contact detectives at 312-744-8263 regarding crime pattern #24-CWP-020.
Editor’s note: In a press release accompanying the video, CPD said the robberies occurred on April 5. They occurred on April 6, and our story is written to reflect that correct date.
