15-year-old mugged woman in the Loop and committed burglary in Lincoln Park, police say

CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy robbed a woman on a CTA platform in the Loop just 20 minutes after burglarizing a Lincoln Park home, Chicago police said Saturday.

At about 4:25 p.m. on May 24, the boy burglarized a woman’s garage in the 2100 block of North Seminary, according to CPD and a police report. After the break-in, he hopped on a train and headed to the Loop.

While standing on the State-Van Buren platform around 4:45 p.m., the boy robbed a 56-year-old woman, according to police.

He got away, but not for long. Police officers identified the boy and arrested him yesterday.

He is charged with robbery and burglary.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
