CHICAGO — Five young men tried to rob a victim at gunpoint at the Racine Blue Line station, then turned violent and stole his shoes when he refused to cooperate, Chicago police say. The attack occurred around 1:40 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the station, 530 South Racine.

CPD said the group seen in these CTA surveillance images demanded the man’s property, but he didn’t comply. So, the group kicked and beat the victim on the platform, then removed his gym shoes and fled.

In a community alert issued Monday afternoon, police said all five suspects are between 16 and 18 years old.

Anyone who recognizes them can contact Mass Transit investigators at 312-745-4447. The case number is JH-297731.
