CHICAGO — Police are looking for the assailant who attacked a man with a knife in the Loop on Tuesday evening. It happened around 8:40 p.m. in the first block of West Van Buren, just outside the State-Van Buren El station.

A 33-year-old man had just left a 7-Eleven when he passed a crowd of people, and a member of the group attacked him from behind, officials said. He suffered a large cut to his left forearm and ran from the scene, according to CPD.

Officers found the victim nearby and helped slow his blood loss. His condition was stabilized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The attacker fled the scene, too. Officers at the scene described him as a Hispanic man wearing a green top, black jogging pants, and white shoes.

Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
