CHICAGO — Armed men robbed two Family Dollar stores in under 30 minutes on Sunday evening, one in Avondale and the other in Albany Park. No arrests have been made.
The men first targeted the store at 3411 West Addison at about 8:35 p.m. The police said one of them displayed a handgun while demanding money from the clerks, who complied.
About 20 minutes later, two men used the same technique to rob the store at 3601 West Montrose. Initial information indicated that the robbers managed to access the safe during this robbery.
Officers were told to be on the lookout for two suspects: a slim Black male wearing a green hoodie or sweater and a shorter Black male with dreadlocks wearing a red jacket.
