CHICAGO — A bicyclist was struck by a hit-and-run driver who ran a stop sign near Kilbourn Park on Tuesday morning.
According to a CPD report and information provided by a neighbor, the 29-year-old cyclist told police he was on his way to work when a driver gave him the right-of-way to ride through the intersection of Roscoe and Kilbourn around 5:30 a.m.
While the driver who stopped for the cyclist remained at the stop sign, a second driver zoomed around the vehicle’s passenger side and sped into the intersection.
The driver struck the bicyclist, sending him crashing to the pavement. Video of the crash was shared on the Ring camera network.
A Chicago police crash report said the cyclist was experiencing pain throughout the right side of his body, but he declined medical attention at the scene, saying he would go to a hospital on his own, according to the report.
The victim told police the car that struck him was black, possibly a BMW or Audi.
