Cops hunt suspects in shooting that left man dead near Bally’s casino construction site

Chicago police detectives investigating the fatal shooting of a man near the new Bally’s casino construction site released a short video clip of the suspects on Tuesday. They hope someone will recognize the people or vehicle in the footage.

Cops found more than 30 shell casings at the scene after responding to shots fired in the 700 block of North Halsted around 12:46 a.m. on September 8.

A 33-year-old man discovered in the street had suffered gunshot wounds to his head, police said. He died later in the day at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The police reportedly recovered a firearm from the victim. They also found an extended ammunition magazine in his jacket.

In the video clip released Tuesday, two men are seen walking on the 800 block of West Superior toward the shooting scene. A gray sedan the men had been traveling in rolls slowly in reverse behind them. It stops just short of Halsted Street as the two men turn north on Halsted toward the shooting scene. Watch:
