Gunman leaves man critically injured in Humboldt Park

Chicago police say a gunman left a man critically injured in Humboldt Park on Monday evening.

At about 8:19 p.m., the victim was standing in the 1300 block of North Rockwell when a silver SUV pulled onto the block. A gunman began firing, and bullets struck the victim in the arm and abdomen, police said.

Witnesses heard about ten shots, and one witness reported that the shooter fired shots while standing in the middle of the street. The offender was described as a man with face tattoos who wore a dark t-shirt.

Cops who responded to the scene heard additional gunfire nearby while they were investigating the shooting, according to CPD radio transmissions. No other injuries were reported.
