CHICAGO — A drive-by gunman left a 34-year-old man in critical condition in the West Loop overnight.

The victim was standing in the 1000 block of West Lake when a gray sedan rolled by around 1:19 a.m., Chicago police said. Someone inside the car opened fire, striking the victim in the back of the head.

Patrons leaving a nearby club said the shooter’s car was a silver or gray Dodge Charger Hellcat with a blue stripe. It was last seen heading south on Carpenter Street.

CPD did not release a description of the shooter.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
