CHICAGO — Cook County Crime Stoppers is putting up a pair of $10,000 rewards for information about two unsolved murders in Chicago last year.

On November 26, two days before Thanksgiving, 57-year-old Miguel Martinez Cisneros was fatally shot as he drove in the 3100 block of West 59th Street. Video showed he was heading south on Troy Street when a white vehicle pulled up and tried to pass him on the right.

At that moment, somebody fired shots, possibly intending to hit someone in the car that was trying to get by him, Crime Stoppers said in its reward announcement. A bullet went through the rear window of Cisneros’ car, and he crashed into a nearby building while the white vehicle fled west on 59th Street.

In the other case, Crime Stoppers is hoping to drum up information about the murder of 19-year-old Matthew Tennent in Gresham on May 20.

Police received a 911 call around 2 p.m. from someone who said they were told that there was a dead man inside the home, which they believed was a trap house. Officers responded about two hours later and found Tennent dead inside the home. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the forehead, and police found a shell casing inside the house, according to initial reports.

For the next 60 days, Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000 cash for information leading to the indictment or arrest of the person or persons responsible for Tennent’s death. An identical reward is being offered for information about Cisneros’ death.
