CHICAGO — Two boys, including a 13-year-old, are charged with attempted murder for stabbing and critically injuring a man during a group attack outside a McDonald’s restaurant on November 14.

Chicago police said an 18-year-old man was walking in the first block of North Western Avenue when a group of males attacked him around 9:23 p.m. At least one person in the group pulled out a sharp object and repeatedly stabbed the victim, leaving him in critical condition, according to CPD.

No arrests were immediately made. Now, police say a fugitive task force arrested the 16-year-old and the 13-year-old to face charges in the case. Authorities took both boys into custody in the 4100 block of West Wilcox on Tuesday.

Both of them face charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. No other information is available about the boys because they are juveniles, and their cases are shielded from public review.
