CHICAGO — Two teenagers who robbed four men in Logan Square on Friday morning were arrested less than 20 minutes later at (wait for it!) the county’s juvenile justice center.
According to Chicago police, the robbery occurred shortly before 10 a.m. in the 2700 block of North Albany. At least two offenders displayed a gun and took valuables from three victims, a couple of 23-year-olds and a 25-year-old, CPD said. The crew also tried to rob a 27-year-old man, but that effort failed.
“Due to the swift action of officers the offenders were placed into custody” less than 20 minutes later, a CPD press release said. Where were the suspects taken into custody? In the 1100 block of South Hamilton, which is where the county’s juvenile detention center and juvenile courts are located.
CPD said the boys, ages 16 and 17, are each charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery. No other details were available about them because they are under 18.
