Woman shot near busy Logan Square intersection, gunman runs from scene

A woman is in critical condition after a gunman shot her near a busy Logan Square intersection overnight. Witnesses saw a gunman run from the scene.

The 21-year-old woman was in the 2400 block of North Milwaukee, just north of Fullerton, when the man shot her in the abdomen around 1:20 a.m., police said.

Witnesses said the gunman, a Black male wearing a white hoodie, faded jeans, and a ski mask, ran north on Milwaukee and north on Richmond Street after firing the shots.

Investigators found at least eight shell casings at the scene. CPD said he remained at large. The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
