Chicago police are asking for the public’s help as they try to identify a woman who attacked a man after they both stepped off a CTA bus in Irving Park last month.
The assault happened around 5:45 p.m. on August 15 in the 3600 block of West Addison Street, but CPD is only now releasing surveillance images and other details of the attack. According to police, the woman had boarded a southbound Red Line train at Morse about an hour before the assault, then switched to a westbound Addison bus.
When she and the victim exited at Addison and Kimball, she pulled out a “stick-like object” and struck the man in the head, police said. She then got on her bicycle and rode west on Addison.
Police on Friday released two surveillance photos of the attacker, who is described as 20 to 35 years old with long dreadlocks.
Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes her to contact Det. Ivan Romo at Area Five Violent Crimes by phone at 312-746-6554 or by email at [email protected]. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online at CPDTIP.com under case number JJ-358077.
