Man shot during robbery in West Rogers Park

A 48-year-old man was shot in the arm during a robbery in West Rogers Park last night, Chicago police said.

According to CPD, the victim was walking in the 6400 block of North Campbell Avenue when an unknown male approached him and demanded his property around 10:06 p.m. When the victim yelled for help, the offender pulled out a gun and fired, striking him in the right arm.

Officers on scene applied a tourniquet to slow the man’s bleeding before paramedics arrived and transported him to St. Francis Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

The suspected gunman fled on foot and was last seen heading east through a gangway between two homes. He was described as a Black male wearing dark jeans and a puffy coat.

No arrests had been announced as of Thursday morning.
