An Uptown man who stepped outside to confront two people breaking into his car ended up being robbed at gunpoint by the pair early Friday, according to Chicago police.
Police said the 45-year-old man heard the sound of car glass breaking outside his home in the 800 block of West Sunnyside Avenue at about 5:25 a.m. He went outside to investigate and found two males allegedly stealing items from his vehicle, police said.
The man confronted the two, and police said the pair displayed a gun before taking his belongings. The offenders then got into a nearby silver sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla, and fled westbound, according to police. The victim described the offenders as Black males wearing ski masks. No arrests have been reported.
