The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification of four gunmen who opened fire at an Auburn Gresham gas station last month, killing two people and critically injuring two others.
The agency announced the reward on Monday, days after the Chicago Police Department released surveillance video showing the four shooters in the moments before they arrived at the scene, the BP station at 7600 South Halsted Street, and as the shooting unfolded, with a large number of rounds fired.
At about 12:23 a.m. on July 2, the suspects were seen walking down an alley toward the gas station, all four dressed in black with their faces covered and hoods pulled up. Video shows the group entering the gas station lot, some carrying handguns and others armed with rifles, before rushing toward the station and opening fire.
Officials said 53-year-old Surbezz Clark and 46-year-old Carlos Jones were killed in the shooting. A 35-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were critically injured, according to police.
The FBI said Monday that the shooters are believed to frequent the 7700 block of South Peoria Avenue.

One of the released videos captured a striking moment as the attack unfolded: As the gunmen unleashed a barrage of bullets, a marked CPD squadrol, commonly called a “paddy wagon,” is seen turning the corner and passing the gas station at the top of the frame.
According to police radio traffic, those officers immediately announced “shots fired,” and gunfire could be heard in the background of the transmission. The officers stopped, requested ambulances, rendered first aid to the victims and broadcast descriptions of the shooters to officers across the area, according to the radio transmissions. CWB Chicago has added a portion of the radio traffic to video released by CPD below.
