A suburban woman is charged with pushing a 73-year-old man off a CTA bus in the Loop earlier this month, causing him to dislocate his shoulder. The incident prompted Chicago police to issue a community alert, releasing surveillance images and asking the public to help identify the suspect.

At about 12:30 p.m. on October 6, the victim was exiting a bus in the 100 block of North Michigan Avenue when Charne Sisson, 34, pushed him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, officials said.

Chicago police arrested Sisson on Tuesday in the 1900 block of West Roosevelt Road as she rode another CTA bus.

Judge Ankur Srivastava ordered Sisson detained Wednesday afternoon. She is charged with aggravated battery of a victim older than 60 and aggravated battery of a transit passenger. Court records show she has a history of arrests for battery, but those have only resulted in two convictions.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
