CHICAGO — Prosecutors say a man shot his own cousin after a drug deal, then dumped his body in a Chicago alley. CPD detectives flew to Memphis last week and brought Jordan Allison, 27, back to Chicago to face charges.
Allison, his girlfriend, a witness, and Allison’s cousin, 29-year-old Jarvael Miller, met up late on November 4 to buy drugs in Chicago, prosecutors said during a detention hearing on Friday.
After completing the deal, the group returned to Allison’s truck, which was parked in south suburban Lansing. While they were all sitting in the vehicle, Allison shot Miller several times as his girlfriend and the other witness watched, prosecutors alleged.
Allison allegedly returned Miller’s body to Chicago in the truck and dumped him in an alley in the 5600 block of South Wabash.
Chicago police officers found Miller in the alley around 1 a.m. on November 5.
In addition to eyewitness statements, police used Miller’s phone location data to link him to the murder, according to a CPD arrest report.
A Cook County judge signed an arrest warrant for Miller on December 22. Authorities in Crittenden County, Arkansas, just west of Memphis, recently arrested him on an unrelated local matter and detained him on the murder warrant, the CPD report said.
