CHICAGO — Prosecutors have charged a suburban man with firing a handgun on the Division Blue Line station platform early Monday morning. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Brandon Taylor, 32, of Lombard, is charged with endangering others by recklessly discharging a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to a Chicago Police Department media release. He is expected to appear for a detention hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon.
CPD said Taylor was riding the train when he got into an argument with a CTA worker around 1:07 a.m. He stepped off the train at Division and pulled out a gun, then began shooting at the train as it pulled out of the station, police said. CTA surveillance cameras recorded it all.
The CTA employee was taken to St. Mary’s to get checked out, but they were not physically injured, according to police.
