CHICAGO — Prosecutors have filed charges in connection with the shooting of a woman in Humboldt Park last week, and the accused gunman is just 14 years old.
The victim, 19, was inside a Honda CR-V in the 1600 block of North Spaulding when a bullet grazed her shoulder around 4:43 p.m. on January 27, officials said. According to witnesses, at least two people were shooting at each other on the block. The woman was struck, as were some parked cars.
Chicago police announced on Wednesday that a 14-year-old boy was “one of the offenders” who fired shots. Police have charged him with aggravated battery by discharging a firearm and two counts of criminal damage to property.
No other details are available about the boy because he is under 18. CPD said they arrested him on Tuesday in the 3400 block of West Wabansia.
